We’ve driven by it, you’ve driven by it, and we always say, one day we’re going to visit the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville Alabama. Well we finally made plans and spent a whole day at the second largest space research park in the United States.
Exhibits include everything from Rockets, Space Suits to the life size model of the International Space Station and everything in between. There’s a lot of looking, reading, walking, listening so plan a full day. Plan to enjoy the Simulators, Ride the Moonshot or G-Force Accelerator, travel in space by Virtual Reality Experiences, and the Planetarium at the Rocket Center.
Science on the ISS is monitored 24/7 at Payload Operations Center at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.
Many of the most important space exploration Rockets and Modules as well as propulsion for the Space Shuttle and the design and build of the International Space Station were completed in Huntsville.
You can visit with the Saturn V Moon Rocket, Apollo 16 Command Module and see Skylab.
Space Camp
Over 900,000 kids have attended Space Camp at the US Space & Rocket Center. You can see a lot of excitement in the eyes of these kids. They should be excited as many will probably have the opportunity to work in the industry or travel in space themselves. Will your child be the one millionth?
Pull over and see the Apollo 12 Moon Rock, the Pathfinder, the world’s only full-stack space shuttle display, America’s first Satellite Explorer 1 and see where America’s next great ship, the Space Launch System is being designed. You’ll LOVE it!

The General Admission tickets are $30 for ages 13+, $20 for children 12 and under, Children 4 and under are FREE! Space Camp is available for children from 4th – 12th grade.
