Do you LOVE working on toilets?
It looks like a vacation, beautiful locations, wonderful weather, and amazing sights. It is but it’s also repairing your rig, days at service centers, truck stops, boondocking at Walmart, a cold night or a hot day with no AC and occasional long days on the road.
It isn’t easy or cheap. You must plan well, in advance and be flexible. There will be mistakes and accidents. You’ll probably spend equal to living in an apartment or house. Things will need to be changed, you’ll research parts, equipment and buy things you don’t need.
We’ve done all of this, and we’ll keep doing it because the ups are bigger than the downs. We examine the obstacles before trying to go through or over them.
Accidents
Day one, a 6’ tree limb fell and punctured the slide cover, roof and ceiling in our full wall slide. We patched it, insurance covered it, repair complete in 60 days, that is quick these days. Events occur.
Emergency
Medical Emergency. You can’t plan for it, do all you can to be prepared. The DH needed major surgery, light duty for 6 months, it happens.
Replacements
Our 2016 Class A Newmar was only two years old and we’ve replaced the main thermostat, water pump switch, living room TV, Microwave, Sleep Number bed cell, couch to theater seats, and dining chairs.
Repairs
We’ve repaired the Macerator toilet and switch, AC capacitor, wall mounted shower, exhaust fan motor, overhead lights, drawer latches.
