New RV’s are shiny and pretty. They’ll have warranties, lots of technology such as Systems Monitoring, Satellite TV, Smart TV’s, Multiple Energy Sources, Solar Ready etc.
Used RV’s, less shiny, with less technology, but you can add what you want. Maybe the used RV is road tested and more road ready. Pro’s can inspect them. Some have warranties or a warranty can be purchased.

Ways to find an RV in the sea of options.
- Find the Big RV Show coming to you. Once a year in Hershey, PA and Tampa, FL have the biggest shows. There will be one or more close to you. Find it, put it on your calendar and go ready to research. Most likely, there will be other businesses, equipment manufacturers, all kinds of service companies and RV Park representatives. Plan a full day and enjoy.
- What type of rig do you want? Class A, B, C, Fifth Wheel, Travel Trailer or Toy Hauler? See the links below for manufacturers or click this link for a short description of RV types. What Are the Different Classes of RVs Explained: Class a, B, C, Trailer (businessinsider.com)
- Find the largest RV Park, maybe a KOA or Encore, close enough for you to visit and see what is working for other people. Note the rigs you find acceptable and list the unacceptable, so you won’t waste time on those later.
- Study your Models and Floorplans. Ask us questions!
- Now find a dealer with your manufacturer and visit.
New or used, these links will give you a great idea of what is available.
There are hundreds. You’ll find more manufacturers. We recommend that you narrow it down to no more than three rigs.
USED RV’s
A great source for used RV’s is www.rvtrader.com. We purchased ours from a private seller, we found here. The wholesale value, dealer cost, of a used rig can easily be determined. We will show you how. This is a great info as a negotiating tool to help you save money.
It took a little while, 2-3 months, to discover and work out the kinks on our previously owned RV. Some kinks were worked out by the previous owner. This can be a “plus” when buying a used RV.
There is so much more, stay tuned as we add info.
